William E. "Bill" Norman of Hoover, Alabama passed away on February the 7th
surrounded by his family. He was just 61 years of age. Bill served his country
proudly as a member of the U.S. Marine Corps in Vietnam, as a Crew Chief on
C-117 aircraft. He worked at Homewood Toy and Hobby for over 35 years. Bill
was devoted to, and contributed much to the hobby of flying radio control. It
would be impossible to count the number of people that Bill taught to fly R/C. He
always was eager to share his vast knowledge of the hobby he loved so much
with anyone who asked. Bill was a lifetime member of the Bama Fliers. He was a
very meticulous builder, and he used to fly pattern ships competitively. Bill also
had a passion for flying control line in recent years especially. Always quick with
a smile, he seldom met a stranger. The hobby has lost a very fine modeler, and a
tireless advocate. All who knew him will miss him a great deal. Fair winds Bill. |
