D.C. club, AMA staff work National Science & Engineering Festival

With more than a half million people attending the National Science & Engineering Festival held in Washington, D.C., it is the nation's premier event for showcasing science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). AMA's Education Department partnered with the D.C. Maxecuters Model Airplane Club, joining roughly 3,000 other exhibitors. Called "a science fair on steroids," the festival is part of a national drive to spark study and careers in STEM subjects. AMA offers AeroLab to middle-school teachers - something clubs should consider offering to their local schools, along with the Academy's take off and grow (TAG) program.
